We just read Mike's post, where he got hungry for ham from eating it for Thanksgiving at his brother's house. We had the same experience, but got hungry for turkey and cranberry sauce instead. When we got home from Dave and Nic's we bought a nice big turkey, cut it apart, re-froze the still partly frozen breast, and have been eating wings and drumsticks for several days. We have a great recipe from the USU Food Services Turkey Casserole, which uses sliced turkey, delicious bread dressing, and custard gravy. And we have a great recipe from Grandma Dotty for fresh cranberry salsa made with cranberries, oranges, apples and pecans all ground up in a delicious tangy mix. Yumm!
But that is all behind us. This morning we checked into the Missionary Training Center, where we will get 10 days of cafeteria food and lots of training. We've met about 20 new couples, and a pair of single senior sisters, one of whom will serve in the Madrid temple with us. The travel department is hopeful that we will get our visas sooner rather than later. In the meantime we train and wait. We are being taught patience, and life is good.
