travels
Here we are in MA. What a fun place to spend the 4th of July--right where it all began. Last night we went to the Lexington fireworks, where we met Cami's sister Laura and a friend of hers named Tim. Today we went to a parade in a nearby town that featured three firetrucks, one flatbed truck carrying old WWII veterans, a squad of girlscouts and brownie scouts, a company of "haute dogs" dressed in a variety of doggie apparel. Another flatbed showcasing numberous ways to save the planet by living lightly on the earth. A flatbed carrying a country-western band along with various fans, and... well, you get the idea. After lunch at Pete's and Cami's, Laura and Tim arrived with their bikes; and Pete, Greg, Tim and Laura rode them to an icecream store while Cami and Monti drove the kids there, along with their bikes. After we all ate huge bowls of ice cream, we helped Bryn and Calvin ride their bikes on a quiet side street, and then all of us retired back to Pete's and Cami's. Tonight we were going to go the the town hall to hear the Declaration of Independence read, but instead Laura and Tim are fixing us an Italian dinner. Oh, well. Dinner smells delicious, and we are all delightfully tired. Tomorrow is baby Ivy's blessing.
